Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Sagora collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to get it deleted. Sagora is operated under ABN 61 166 854 288, and we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Depending on whether you use Sagora as a worker or an employer:
- Everyone: name, email address, phone number, suburb and state, and your account password (stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see it).
- Workers: licences and tickets you hold (such as White Card, forklift, MR/HR/HC, RSA, Food Handling), photographs or scans of those documents where you upload them, whether you have a car, how far you will travel, your availability, hourly rate, shift history, ratings and reviews.
- Employers: company name, ABN, industry, the jobs you post, and your invoice and payment history with us.
- Automatically: basic technical information such as IP address and device type, used to keep the service secure and working.
Why we collect it
- To create and run your account.
- To match workers with jobs — an employer sees a worker's name, suburb, licences, ratings and work history so they can decide who to hire.
- To calculate hours, overtime, penalty rates and our platform fee.
- To issue tax invoices and meet our record-keeping obligations.
- To send transactional email about your jobs, applications and shifts.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
Licence documents
Where you upload a photo of a licence or ticket, it is stored in a private location that is not publicly readable. Employers can see that a licence is recorded and whether it has been verified and when it expires — they cannot download the document itself.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run Sagora:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage. Data is hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Resend — sending transactional email.
- Stripe — payment processing, if and when card payments are enabled. Sagora never sees or stores your full card number.
Some of these providers operate infrastructure outside Australia, which means your information may be stored or processed overseas.
Wages are not handled by Sagora
Employers pay workers directly. Sagora does not receive, hold or transmit wages, and does not collect worker bank account details for that purpose. We invoice employers separately for our platform fee only.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from My Profile → Delete account. You do not need to email us and we will not try to talk you out of it. What happens depends on whether you have shift or invoice history:
- No shifts and no invoices: your account and all associated personal information are permanently deleted.
- You have worked or been invoiced: your login is permanently disabled and your personal information is erased — name, contact details, bio, location, licence documents and any reviews you wrote. What remains is the shift and invoice records themselves, with no information identifying you attached.
We keep those financial records because Australian tax law requires records supporting a tax invoice to be kept for five years, and because deleting them would also destroy the other party's legitimate records of work done and money owed. Either way, your account ends, you cannot sign in again, and you no longer appear anywhere in the service.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can view and correct most of your information directly in My Profile. To request a copy of what we hold, or to correct something you cannot change yourself, email support@sagora.com.au.
Security
Access to your data is restricted at the database level so that people can only read what they are entitled to. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Children
Sagora is not intended for anyone under 15, and you must be legally entitled to work in Australia to use it as a worker.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at support@sagora.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you by email.
